Pickleball in Galloway, West Virginia
Galloway is a small Barbour County community without a public pickleball facility of its own. The nearest dedicated court is at North Philippi Park in Philippi, about 10 miles away. Barbour County also has shared tennis and pickleball courts at the county park and fairgrounds near Belington.
Local courts work well when you bring partners. Players arriving alone need to arrange a game in advance or travel to Mylan Park in Morgantown, where recurring indoor open play provides a dependable rotation.
Courts Near Galloway
- North Philippi Park, 718 Maple Avenue, Philippi. The city opened one dedicated outdoor pickleball court here in September 2024. The permanent court is the closest direct option for Galloway residents, but one available court does not mean an organized group will be present. View the City of Philippi court announcement.
- Barbour County Park and Fairgrounds, Belington. The county resurfaced its tennis area with pickleball lines on two courts. This is shared court space rather than a dedicated pickleball complex. Court reservations are handled by Barbour County Parks and Recreation at 304-457-4339, and the published tennis court reservation rate is $40. View county facility rates and contacts.
- Hazel and J.W. Ruby Community Center at Mylan Park, 500 Mylan Park Lane, Morgantown. This indoor center has 22 pickleball courts at full setup. Typical open play runs Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 AM to noon. Members play during drop in hours at no added charge, and nonmembers pay $8 for a daily pass.
